FROM ANXIOUS TO THRIVING
About the Program
From Anxious to Thriving is based on the highly regarded SPACE program (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), developed by Dr. Eli Lebowitz at the Yale Child Study Center. The program has been rigorously tested and proven effective in randomized controlled clinical trials.

What Parents Will Learn
In a supportive and friendly environment, parents learn practical skills and tools to help their child overcome anxiety, OCD, and related challenges. A key benefit of the program is the normalization and validation of parents’ experiences—many participants find it empowering to discover they are not alone.

How SPACE Works
The program focuses on two key changes parents can make:
-
Responding Supportively: Learning to respond to your child’s anxiety in ways that are calm, encouraging, and effective.
-
Reducing Accommodations: Gaining strategies to gradually reduce behaviors or adjustments that accommodate your child’s anxiety (e.g., avoiding triggers).
These changes help children learn to face anxiety-provoking situations while reducing the limitations anxiety has placed on their lives. By focusing on parental behavior, the program empowers parents to become the agents of change for their child and family.
